Well lets see, where do I start Dan was the head of security and the GM of the campus of Job Corp and also known as

Northern State Hospital. I met Dan in 2007 and then called him up in June of 2009 wanting to tour the campus and

take photographs for my website.

Well lets just say he told me no, but me being the persistant girl that I am told him I have only best intentions and would

only post photos he approved of and so on and so on so he checked out my website and then e-mailed me back and asked

me when I could come up. A friendship began and I was asked to come back up to shoot some more of the buildings I had missed.

As I was getting ready to leave after my 2nd trip up there he came out to my truck and said

" You know, I need you to come back and shoot the inside of the Job Corp buildings to show that this is what the buildings

look like now but it could look like this, the other side of the coin." I told him I would be glad to come back up but on my way

home I kept thinking to myself there has to be something I can do to help.

So after many e-mails of ideas and approval from the powers that be Dan had opened up NSH Campus for the first time

 in about 30years.

I was going to be able to schedule tours for the public for a fee to photograph and view the amazing history that these

buildings hold. I also started a non- Profit Foundation to help in at least trying to preserve what we can of the buildings that are left.

If I have not been home in Puyallup I have been in Sedro Woolley running tours and figuring out future tour dates with Dan,

Judy and other staff. Unfortunately Dan passed away suddenly but he was at least able to attend the very first tour at NSH.

I am proud to be  apart of something that is going to help preserve our history and keep Dans dreams alive for what he wanted

for this campus he held so dearly to his heart. I know that Dan was a little camera shy, but I was able to get him to pose with us in

our first group photo and I have a few of him telling his story of the history and life he has known at NSH.

So I will do my best to keep his dream on going.
